Biographie
Scorpions est un groupe de hard rock allemand, originaire d'Hanovre. Leur premier album Lonesome Crow voit le jour en 1972. Le groupe connaît un prestige planétaire – surtout à partir des années 1980 – grâce à des titres hard rock tels que No One Like You en 1982 ou Rock You Like a Hurricane en 1984 et des ballades à l'instar de Still Loving You (1984) ou Wind of Change (1990)10 et Send Me an Angel en 1990, des chansons à grand succès commercial.
Le déclin médiatique venu à partir des années 1990, les protagonistes se sont tournés vers de nouvelles expériences, avec notamment l'album Moment of Glory (avec l'Orchestre philharmonique de Berlin), Acoustica (album live acoustique) mais reviennent à leurs recettes traditionnelles en 2010 avec l'album Sting in the Tail.
En 2010, le groupe recense plus de cent millions d'albums vendus à travers le monde.
Le 23 janvier 2010, le groupe annonce sur son site officiel que, après leur tournée mondiale accompagnant la sortie du nouvel album, ils mettront un terme à leur carrière. Le groupe revient toutefois sur sa décision fin 2012, en expliquant ne plus faire de grandes tournées après la sortie de leurs futurs albums studios.
