The Stranglers est un groupe de rock new wave britannique formé le 11 septembre 1974 à Guildford, qui est associé au mouvement punk puis New Wave.
Dans les premiers temps, il est composé de quatre membres : Hugh Cornwell (chant, guitare), le franco-britannique Jean-Jacques Burnel (chant, basse), Dave Greenfield (claviers) et Jet Black (percussions).
Les Stranglers ont atteint en Angleterre 23 fois le top 40 des singles et 17 fois le top 40 des albums.
